Publication Ethics
Sahata: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
1. Duties of Authors
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Authors must properly cite all sources and references used in their work.
- Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
- Authors must ensure that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the research.
- Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Authors must participate in the peer review process and respond to reviewers’ comments.
2. Duties of Editors
- Editors are responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on their academic merit.
- Editors must evaluate manuscripts without regard to authors’ race, gender, religious belief, or political philosophy.
- Editors must ensure confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Editors must not use unpublished materials for their own research without written consent.
3. Duties of Reviewers
- Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions through objective and constructive evaluation.
- Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Reviewers must identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
- Reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest.
4. Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for deciding which articles are accepted for publication, based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial policies.
5. Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index above the acceptable threshold will be rejected.
6. Ethical Oversight
Any ethical issues, including research misconduct, data fabrication, or falsification, will be handled seriously according to COPE guidelines.
